This Privacy Policy explains how Efficient Building Automation Corp. (“EBAC”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), which operates the Circon® brand and this website, collects, uses, and protects your personal information. EBAC is based in British Columbia, Canada, and handles personal information in accordance with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). This policy applies to our public website and to our gated downloads portal (downloads.circon.com).

Information we collect

We collect personal information only when you choose to give it to us through our contact form. That form asks for your name and email (required), and optionally your company, phone number, area of interest, and a message. We do not offer user accounts, and we do not sell products or process payments through this website.

To protect the form from spam and abuse, we use Cloudflare Turnstile, which performs an automated check that processes your IP address at the moment of submission. We do not otherwise collect or store your IP address, and we do not build advertising or marketing profiles about you.

Downloads portal. To access our gated downloads portal, you provide your email address. Access is handled by Cloudflare Access, which emails you a one-time code to sign you in and keeps a record of portal access (email address, IP address, and time). We use your email only to grant and manage your access to the portal — we do not use it to send you marketing.

How we use your information

We use the information you submit solely to respond to and follow up on your inquiry — for example, sales, technical support, or partnership questions. We rely on your consent, which you provide by submitting the contact form.

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand aggregate website traffic (such as page views and referring sites). It is privacy-focused and cookieless — it does not set cookies, does not track you across other websites, and does not fingerprint your device.

Cookies and local storage

This website sets no tracking or advertising cookies. Cloudflare (our hosting and security provider) and its Turnstile anti-spam check may set operational or security cookies necessary to deliver and protect the site. Our downloads portal uses a necessary authentication cookie (set by Cloudflare Access) to keep you signed in after you verify your email; it is required for the portal to function. Your browser also stores your light/dark theme preference locally on your device. Because we use no tracking cookies, our sites do not display a cookie-consent banner.

Service providers and international processing

We share the information you submit only with the service providers that operate this website on our behalf:

  • Cloudflare — website hosting, content delivery, the Turnstile anti-spam check, and (for the downloads portal) Cloudflare Access email-based sign-in.
  • Resend — delivers your contact-form submission to us by email.

These providers are based in the United States, so your information may be processed and stored in the U.S. as well as Canada. We use reputable providers and share only what is needed to operate the site and respond to you.

How we share your information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We disclose it only to the service providers listed above, or where we are required to do so by law.

Data retention

We keep the information you submit only as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry and to meet our legitimate business and legal obligations, after which we delete it. Because contact-form messages reach us as email, they may also persist within our email systems, individual mailboxes, and routine backups in line with our normal email-retention practices. For the downloads portal, we retain your email address and access records for as long as you have access and as needed for security and legal purposes.

Your rights and choices

Regardless of where you live, you may:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you;
  • Correct it if it is inaccurate or incomplete;
  • Withdraw your consent and ask us to delete the information we hold about you; and
  • Opt out of further communications from us at any time.

To make any of these requests, contact us at privacy@circon.com and we will respond within a reasonable time. We honour deletion requests on a reasonable-efforts basis; please note that because contact-form messages are delivered and stored as email, copies may remain in individual mailboxes, sent or forwarded messages, and routine backups, which can limit our ability to erase every copy immediately.

Security

We take reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect your personal information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard the limited information we collect.

Children

This website is intended for a business audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Our website may link to third-party sites (for example, a map or a video platform) that we do not control. This policy does not apply to those sites; we encourage you to review their privacy policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and post the updated policy on this page.
